What we do
What We Do.
Braking Away Cycling Tours was set up by like-minded individuals with a passion for cycling. We offer our clients a chance to view the beauty that Europe has to offer on a fully supported cycle tour. We cycle in groups of six to eight and every tour has a dedicated cycle guide, mechanic and support vehicle with all your needs catered for.
Our guides have a wealth of information on the areas and roads you will cycle on. Our vehicles are packed with drinks, protein bars and fruit to keep you going throughout the day. Breakfast and Dinner are included on all tours. All our hotels are hand picked to ensure you have the finest food and facilities. We take care of all luggage transfers and check ins, so all you have to do is enjoy the ride.

Accommodation
After a long day in the saddle, we understand how important a good night's sleep is. We have hand picked the finest hotels for you. Many of them have Health and Spa facilities.
All our hotels have vegan and vegetarian options on their menu. If you have any special dietary requests, please let us know in advance and we will look after it for you. Your happiness and comfort is our priority.

How We Roll
We cycle in groups of six to eight people, and each group will have a designated Team Leader. Every tour has a mechanic and support vehicle with all your needs catered for.
We normally start each day with Breakfast at 7 a.m. and ready to roll by 8:30 a.m. Lunch is normally around 1 p.m. We have 2 water stops. One before lunch and one after. We like to be in our hotel before 5 p.m. and be sitting at a well deserved dinner by 7:30 p.m.
We understand that our clients will have various degrees of fitness. Our philosophy is nobody gets left behind. Our Mizen to Malin tour is relatively flat with some ups and downs and we structure our groups in order of fitness levels. This ensures you will always cycle at your level.
On our French Alpine Tours, it's almost impossible to keep a group together on the cols. While we start out each day together, once we hit the foot of each climb, you are free to cycle at your own pace. One thing to note, on all tours we do have cut off times (which are quite generous) for lunch and arrival at the hotel. Our support team is there at all times. If at any stage you feel you need to sit out a section* and take a break, you are welcome to throw your bike on the roof rack and sit in our support vehicle with your feet up. On certain days the group will need to be moved by mini bus a short distance between cols/hotels. However I must warn you that our Mini Bus Spotify list is suspect at the best of times, but we do take requests!!
* A section is a half day or full day.
